Kingsgate Dental Practice originally opened its doors in 1946 and was taken over by its fourth, and current, owner in July 2014. All of the team have strong ties with Durham and the University, making us all extremely passionate about the area and the local people. We are proud to carry forward the practice’s personable family ethos that has been prominent throughout its history.

Dr David Lamb

Dentist & Owner

David is a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons (Edinburgh). He focuses increasingly on dental implantology and a broad range of general treatments. He’s committed to ongoing learning and also supports graduate dentists in their early careers.

Dr Joanna Giles

Associate Dentist

GDC: 210054

Joanna qualified from Newcastle in 2011 and has a special interest in root canal treatments, Invisalign Go, and facial aesthetics. She’s currently working towards her Level 7 diploma in aesthetics. Outside work, she’s a mum of two, married to a fellow dentist and enjoys gardening and knitting.

Dr Joe Reid

Joe qualified with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Newcastle University in 2018 . He enjoys all aspects of dentistry but has a particular interest in root canal treatment. Away from work, Joe enjoys the outdoors and is always looking to try different outdoor pursuits.

Dr Paul Aun

Paul joined Kingsgate Dental in April 2023 and brings a warm, professional approach to patient care. A Newcastle graduate, he has additional training in teeth straightening, veneers, and root canal treatment, holding a Diploma in Endodontics.

Dr Rob Hetherington

Associate Dentist

GDC: 212233

Rob qualified in 2011 and sits on the Northern Division board of the Faculty of General Dental Practice. He especially enjoys providing lifelike dentures as well as straightening smiles with Invisalign and fixed braces, and is currently finishing his postgraduate Orthodontic Diploma.

Charlotte has been in the dental profession for over 22 years and believes in encouraging preventative care of teeth and gums for all our patients.

Jess is a dental hygienist who qualified from Teesside University in 2024. She’s passionate about preventative care, including airflow therapy and stain removal, and loves helping patients feel confident in their oral health.

Kayleigh Reeves

Kayleigh is a dental hygienist with 15 years of experience in dentistry, starting out as a dental nurse before graduating from Teesside University in 2024.
